Instaprost privacy policy
Instaprost is a small social app for sharing beer pictures. This page explains, in plain words, what data the app stores and why. It is deliberately short; if something is unclear, write to us.
What we store
- Account — your email address, username, display name, optional bio and avatar, and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself). Whether your account is private.
- Photos and posts — the pictures you upload, their captions, hashtags and mentions, and when they were posted. Posts also appear as a 24-hour story. Photos are stored on our servers (or a storage bucket we control) until you delete the post or your account.
- Social graph — who you follow, who follows you, follow requests, blocked users, likes, comments, saved posts and reposts.
- Messages — direct messages you send and receive, including group conversations. Messages are stored so that both sides can read them; they are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Reports — if you report a post or user we store the report and the reason.
- Technical data — server logs with IP address and request time, kept for a short period for security and debugging. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. TODO: confirm before publishing.
Automated image check
Every picture you upload is checked by an AI vision model provided by a third party (currently Anthropic's Claude API) to confirm it shows beer or people toasting with beer. The image is sent to that provider only for this check and is not used by us for anything else. The provider processes it under its API terms. TODO: link the provider's data-usage terms.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We do not access your camera or photo library except when you take or pick a picture in the app.
Who can see what
Public accounts: posts, profile, followers and following are visible to any signed-in user. Private accounts: only approved followers see your posts and stories. Direct messages are visible only to the participants. Anyone can see your username, display name and avatar.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual posts, comments and messages in the app. Settings → Delete account removes your account, posts, photos, follows, likes, comments and messages you sent. Backups are rotated within 30 days. TODO: confirm the retention period.
Age
Instaprost is about beer. You must be of legal drinking age in your country (and at least 17 for the App Store age rating) to use it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
